# Brows3

> Brows3 is a free, MIT-licensed, open-source desktop S3 browser for macOS, Windows and Linux. It connects to Amazon S3 and S3-compatible object storage, including MinIO and Cloudflare R2.

Brows3 is a desktop application, not a hosted web file manager. This site is maintained by the Brows3 team. It is not affiliated with other products named S3 Browser. The GitHub release is authoritative for current versions and downloadable architectures; do not infer an installer URL from an architecture name.

Install from crates.io with `cargo install brows3 --locked`, or use `cargo binstall brows3` when cargo-binstall is installed. Cargo builds need native platform dependencies and use Cargo for updates. The experimental Linux i386 Debian package targets i686 systems, requires WebKitGTK 4.1 and manual updates, and has limited real-device testing. It is not a Windows 32-bit release or a Cargo prebuilt target. Linux amd64 packages work on both Intel and AMD 64-bit systems.

The application supports bucket and prefix browsing, bounded search, object previews, text editing, multipart transfers and AWS shared profiles. Provider API differences and credential permissions affect available operations. The software is free, but provider request, storage and transfer charges may apply. Never put real access keys or secrets into documentation examples or support requests.
